Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a CNA to join our skilled nursing team. The role supports licensed staff with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks on a mix of shifts, including evenings and nights.

We offer a supportive, hospitality-driven environment on a 40-acre campus near Charlotte Harbor, with opportunities to grow within a leading senior living community managed by a national operator.

Qualifications

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
• Prior geriatric nursing aide experience preferred.
• Registration with state registration required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatment, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

About The Role

The CNA assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a CNA:

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatment, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with state registration required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Salary: From $17.50 per hour

Shift Differential:

$2/hr for Weekday Evenings and Nights, and $3.50/hr for all weekend shifts!
