South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to administer medications, perform treatments, and support residents with compassion and professionalism.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, collaboration with physicians and families, and adherence to care plans. A Florida RN license and prior geriatric experience are preferred, with weekend/evening shifts noted.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license in good standing.
• 6+ months nursing experience; geriatric involvement preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatments and procedures (dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.).
• Assists in direct resident care as needed.
• Maintains accurate documentation of medications and care.
• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to resident emergency calls and notifies clinicians.
• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.
• Keeps physicians and families informed of changes in condition.
• Maintains resident dignity and safety; ensures continuity of services.
• Attends in-service trainings and carries out duties assigned by supervisor.

About South Port Square

South Port Square is a 40-acre campus in Port Charlotte, close to Charlotte Harbor and Punta Gorda. Schedule

Part Time: 7 AM–3:30 PM, Weekends, 3 PM–11:30 PM.
PRN: 7 AM–3:30 PM, 3 PM–11:30 PM, 11 PM–7:30 AM.

About The Role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls as indicated.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications.
• Administers treatments, including dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.
• Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
• Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to the resident emergency call system as indicated.
• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.
• Keeps physicians and family aware of change in resident’s condition.
• Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient.
• Assures continuity of services and care.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• RN currently licensed by the State of Florida in good standing.
• At least 6 months nursing experience; geriatric involvement preferable.
• Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
• Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
• Can pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Compensation

Salary: from $34.00 per hour.
Shift Differential: $2/hr for weekday evenings and nights, and $3.50/hr for all weekend shifts.
