Job summary

McKeever Price Chopper in Leawood, KS is hiring a Meat Cutter to cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and seafood for our sales floor and special orders. You will help ensure quality, freshness, and safety while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to customers.

You'll follow safety and sanitation procedures, maintain display cases, wrap and label products, assist with custom cuts, and support inventory and training tasks for the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+
• Experience in meat cutting/butchery or meat prep
• Strong knife skills and understanding of cuts
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain (McKeever’s will assist)
• Reliable, professional, customer-service oriented
• Able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines precisely

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and seafood to specifications
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures for knives, saws, slicers, and grinders
• Maintain meat case presentation, freshness, and product rotation
• Wrap, weigh, label, and stock meat products for display
• Assist customers with selections, custom cuts, and cooking suggestions
• Monitor inventory, back stock, and cooler organization
• Clean and sanitize tools, cutting boards, and work areas
• Support department manager with prep, ordering, and training tasks
• Stock and rotate packaged meat in refrigerated cases
