Job summary

AdventHealth Littleton in Colorado is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality 2D/3D mammography exams, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate EMR/PACS documentation. You will work with radiologists to deliver precise imaging results and participate in QA and QC activities in a fast-paced breast imaging team.

The role requires MQSA/ARRT credentials, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience, with strong customer relations and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
• Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the EMR and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system QC checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
• Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Follows MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
• Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
