The Skilled Maintenance Technician at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School performs skilled maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs across building systems and grounds. You will troubleshoot facilities issues and work with leadership to keep school operations safe and efficient.

The Skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance, and construction work throughout Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School facilities. This position performs hands-on work across a variety of building systems and trades and assists in maintaining safe, functional, efficient, and well-maintained school buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Skilled Maintenance Technician is expected to independently troubleshoot and complete many routine repairs while recognizing situations that require assistance from Facilities Department leadership, a licensed tradesperson, or an outside contractor.

Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed for emergencies, projects, and special events.
Employees are expected to report during school vacations unless otherwise directed by the Director of Facilities.
Facilities employees may be required to report during snow days, inclement weather, or other school closures to support snow removal, emergency response, and building operations.
Emergency or on-call availability may be required based on operational needs.
