Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-6 years or more of industrial maintenance experience (pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical).
  • Training certifications in a technical field (PLC’s, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical).
  • Experience operating, programming, and troubleshooting PLC's.
  • Reading blueprints and schematics.

Position Title: Maintenance Technician Salary: $52,000-$72,800/year Shift: 2nd Hours: 4:00pm-2:00am QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a company in Janesville, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Execute routine, preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities for the company’s manufacturing equipment and support equipment
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair control and non-control based production equipment
  • Identify problems and solutions on existing equipment; make suggestions/recommendations on specific manufacturers’ components to be installed on new equipment and/or upgrades to assist in standardization of parts throughout the facility
  • Participate with the Maintenance leader and the Production Unit in purchasing new, rebuilt, or upgrades for equipment projects; identify project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource scheduling
  • Manage planned downtime activities for equipment; order required component parts and identify additional resources to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Maintain work area in an organized fashion; ensure area is cleaned after each job is completed
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve the equipment’s reliability and maintainability
  • Document control (work orders, inventory control, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of preventive, predictive, and repair tasks and procedures
  • Follow all safety regulations and practices, including but not limited to lockout/tag out and required personal protective equipment
  • Effectively utilize and follow systems for inventory control of spare parts, labor reporting, maintenance requests, Preventive Maintenance work orders, and purchasing
  • Effectively communicate issues to all appropriate personnel to ensure information is shared with all appropriate parties
  • Assist Production Unit in line changeovers and set-ups as needed
  • Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program
  • Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of the company’s technologies which include the policies, procedures, and requirements of the Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor, including powered industrial truck certifications when applicable
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 5-6 years or more of industrial maintenance experience (pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical)
  • Training certifications in a technical field (PLC’s, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical)
  • Experience operating, programming, and troubleshooting PLC's
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work from ladder or elevated platform
  • Ability to maintain a forklift license
  • Solid troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Data driven mindset in identifying and prioritizing opportunities and issues
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic as well as tactical thinking ability, and problem-solving capacity
  • Effectively address senior-level management, both internally and externally
