Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a skilled construction and maintenance worker to support building, remodeling, and repair projects using hand and power tools. You will perform framing, finish carpentry, painting, and install locks and door latches across facilities.

The role requires six months of related trades experience or an approved equivalence, and you must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within six months of placement. Overtime and extended hours may occur during emergencies.

• Requires attainment of a Commercial Driver’s License within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled construction and maintenance work on building and remodeling projects.
• Perform framing and finish carpentry; paint and finish buildings and equipment.
• Install, repair, and adjust locks and door latches in buildings.
• Operate a tandem dump truck during inclement weather, spreading salt, and plowing roadways.
• Assist with emergency and inclement weather operations; may require extended hours.
