Job summary

Ryerson Metal Solutions in Portage, IN is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (3pm–11pm). You will learn and apply troubleshooting skills on mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and interpret schematics, while supporting everyday production.

Responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, scheduling repairs with operations leadership, and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation in eMaint CMMS.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10-Hour certification required.
• Experience in heavy equipment repair and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Proficient with maintenance documentation and safety records.
• Strong attention to safety and compliance with EH&S.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Assist in scheduling maintenance with operations leadership.
• Document maintenance activities and parts usage in systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and analyze causes.
• Support daily operations with hands-on repairs.
