Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Machine Operator in Gastonia, NC. The role involves setting up, operating, and shutting down production lines with strict adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

You will perform line changeovers, adjust settings, and conduct quality checks while maintaining accurate records in SAP and paper logs. A forklift certification and English literacy are required for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification required or ability to obtain via training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-focused mindset.
• Ability to read work instructions and production schedules.
• Experience with SAP and HMI/PLC control panels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up, operate, and shut down production equipment according to SOPs
• Perform line changeovers, adjust machine settings, and clear minor jams and stoppages
• Load raw materials, containers, labels, and packaging components to keep the line supplied
• Perform in-process quality checks (weights, fill levels, seals, labeling, appearance) and hold non-conforming product
• Complete production, downtime, and scrap records accurately in paper logs and SAP
• Communicate production status and schedule needs with Team Lead and support departments
• Notify Team Lead and Maintenance of equipment issues and support basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow 5S standards.
• Complete daily pass downs between shifts
