Job summary

Midstate Electric Cooperative is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform overhead and underground construction, maintenance, and outage restoration on transmission and distribution systems. The role emphasizes safe, reliable service to members and a strong commitment to safety and public service.

Key activities include setting poles, stringing conductors, installing transformers and breakers, and restoring outages.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of a certified utility or union-affiliated Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
Extensive experience in overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, and outage restoration.
Oregon Class A Commercial Driver's License (or ability to obtain).
Must reside within 45 minutes of reporting facility and be available by phone.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Perform construction and maintenance on energized and de-energized lines at all voltages.
Set poles and anchors, string conductors, install transformers, regulators, breakers, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and restore service during outages and emergencies.
Operate line trucks and equipment safely and in compliance with company policy.
Complete required reports (time, outage, job orders, etc.) accurately and timely.
Participate in all safety meetings, follow all safety rules, and serve on safety committees as assigned.
