Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring a skilled Utility Line Clearance Trimmer to join our team in Hudson, OH. The role emphasizes tree trimming and removal for utility providers, with climbing using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and a CDL preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: CDL with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications for arborist/workers.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Perform pruning and removal safely for major utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lift, etc.).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Progress and growth depend on the employee and experience.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Trimmer, preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL, to join our team servicing the city of Hudson, Ohio.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

Additional Information

• Hourly rate from $18.00 - 22.00 based on experience and if a CDL holder.
