Job summary

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, seeks an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to service Guernsey and Tuscarawas counties, including Cambridge, Dover and New Philadelphia. Expect outdoor work, climbing, pruning and operating utility-service equipment.

The role requires a valid driver’s license; CDL‑A/B with Air Brake is preferred. Company offers strong benefits, 401k match, stock plan, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete the First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees; trim or remove limbs touching lines.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, preferably a Climber and/or with a CDL, joining a team servicing the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions which includes: Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
