Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support all phases of utility construction for telecom projects. You will dig trenches, unload materials, and prepare job sites with hand tools. The role is outdoor and involves transporting equipment daily and building aerial/underground cable systems.

We value safety, quality, hands-on problem solving, and teamwork. A valid driver’s license and potential CDL consideration are required, with opportunities to learn coax/fiber

• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT med card for driving purposes (CDL preferred; applicants are subject to an MVR review, and must meet company standards for a safe driving record).
• You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career, like Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc.
• You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day.
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment.

Compensation of $16-$18 per hour.
