MasTec Communications Group is hiring a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support telecom construction projects across outdoor sites. You value safety, quality workmanship, and hands-on problem solving, and you’re eager to learn trades like coax and fiber splicing, directional drilling, and more on the job.

You will dig trenches, unload materials, transport heavy equipment, assemble aerial and underground cable systems, troubleshoot field issues, and train to operate various tools while contributing

• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work.

• You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career, like Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc.

As a Skilled Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment

Compensation of $20-$25 per hour, based on experience.
