Job summary

GR Birdwell Construction is seeking a skilled Laborer to support logistics, material handling and on-site tasks under supervision of the Superintendent/Foreman. You will help move supplies, track deliveries and assist with installations of work.

Responsibilities include unloading and loading trucks, inspecting materials, maintaining inventory, keeping the job site clean, serving as fire watch for welding and ensuring safety during pours and general site operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting logistics on construction sites.
• Ability to move materials and equipment safely.
• Familiarity with inventory practices and site organization.
• Awareness of safety rules and procedures.
• Team-oriented and able to follow supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and moving materials on site.
• Track deliveries, check quality and sign tickets as required.
• Maintain barcode tags and inventory in the yard or lay-down areas.
• Support pours by preparing and cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Help maintain site housekeeping, flag crane/vehicle movements, and follow safety rules.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent/Foreman a Laborer will be responsible for carrying out logistics, equipment and material handling and assisting with installation of work.

Responsibilities and Duties

Participates in the execution and completion of work, including the following duties:

Supply Chain Logistics

• Tracks and escorts deliveries
• Inspects quality of materials and signs tickets
• Maintains barcode tags for inventory control
• Maintains dumpsters
• Maintains hydration and sanitation stations
• Properly designates the location and storage of flammable liquids
• Ensures materials and equipment are placed in designated lay-down areas

Equipment/Materials

• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Tracks, inspects, and performs sign-in & sign-out procedures
• Assists in inspection of fall protection equipment
• Performs maintenance and repair on equipment
• Signals and flags crane and truck operators
• Rigs loads for hoisting
• Operate roller compactor
• Operate off road dump truck

Installation of Work

• Cleans columns, walls, floors, tools and equipment during & after pours.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of worksite
• Serves as a confined space attendant
• Serves as designated "fire watch" for welding and other hot work applications
