Job summary

West Fraser is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team on-site in the Texas location. The ideal candidate will read and interpret drawings, troubleshoot PLCs, and work with vendors to source parts while maintaining safe operations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to work under pressure, and at least 3 years of electrician experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
• Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations.
• Test electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or repair.
• Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Program AC & DC variable speed drivers.
• Update power distribution system, MCC, and switch gears.
• Install electrical equipment.
• 3 yrs. Industrial Electrician experience troubleshooting, correcting, and maintaining all electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade PLCs to optimize processes.
• Inspect and test electrical systems for hazards and repairs.

• Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Baxley, USNR)
• Process Network Communication Systems and Components—Ethernet & Fiber Optic
