Job summary

RRI West is seeking a Full-Time Skilled Maintenance Technician for Red Roof Plus+ West Springfield. You will respond to guest maintenance requests, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems to keep the hotel safe and welcoming.

The ideal candidate has hotel maintenance experience, is dependable, and able to work weekends and holidays; the role offers competitive pay based on experience and opportunities to contribute to guest

Qualifications

• Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred; skilled trades welcome.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and bending.

Responsibilities

• Responding promptly to guest maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency.
• Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel to keep equipment and facilities operating smoothly.
• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, minor electrical issues, HVAC systems, lighting, appliances, doors, locks, and other building systems.
• Completing painting, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance projects.
• Conducting routine inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they become major repairs.
• Maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and safety of guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior grounds.
• Collaboration with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable stay.
• Following established safety procedures and accurately documenting completed work orders.

• Starting Pay: $20.00 to $21.00/ hour, based on Experience.

• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds, with frequent lifting and bending required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to shift between tasks frequently based on guest and hotel needs.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to use a computer for timekeeping, OSHA training, and other job-related tasks.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays. Most shifts are during the day.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
