Job summary

Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County is seeking a skilled equipment operator at a Transfer Station. The role requires operating front-end loaders, grapplers, compactors, backhoes, and other heavy machinery, with strong attention to maintenance and safety.

The position offers a pay range of $43,726 to $76,521 annually, depending on experience, with full benefits including employer-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance after 60 days, plus retirement through FRS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8th grade education.
• Two years' experience in heavy equipment operation.
• CDL Class A preferred; valid Florida driver’s license.
• Any combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operates front-end loaders, grapplers, compactors, backhoes and related equipment for daily Transfer Station operations.
• Inspects equipment before operation and reports malfunctions.
• Performs minor mechanical maintenance such as lubrication and cleaning.
• Performs manual tasks including drain system cleaning and grounds clean-up.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
