Burke County is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain county facilities and operate heavy equipment in a safe, efficient manner. The role requires about 40 hours per week, with a focus on proper inspection, maintenance, and disposal of debris.

Required is a High School Diploma or GED and a valid NC driver’s license; a NC CDL Class B is preferred within one year of hire. Proficiency in English and strong safety awareness are essential.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• Preferred North Carolina Commercial Driver's License Class B within 1 year of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Operates heavy equipment in a safe, independent manner following laws and regulations.
• Inspects items removed from equipment and ensures proper transportation.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Ensures debris and waste are disposed of properly.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
