Job summary

Beaufort County is seeking a skilled individual to operate heavy vehicles and equipment for installation, maintenance, and repair of county infrastructure and public properties. The role requires independent work, following safety standards and supervising when needed.

You will participate in site safety, manage equipment such as back-hoes, loaders, mowers, and more, and assist with training entry-level operators. A valid CDL Class A and multiple certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Over two years and up to four years of operating heavy equipment or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy vehicles and equipment in installation, maintenance and repair.
• Leads on-site when supervisor is absent or as directed.
• Provides training in equipment operations for entry-level staff.
• Ensures safe operation of tools, vehicles and equipment and adheres to safety standards.
