Job summary

Casella Construction, Inc. in Vermont is seeking a safety‑driven Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, and loaders on a variety of projects in a Civil Construction setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, a valid driver¿s license, and a commitment to safety and quality. This role requires flexibility, weekend work sometimes, and ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating bulldozers, loaders, and excavators.
• Must be 18 years or older; valid driver's license.
• Understanding of safety rules and regulations; willingness to attend training.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe work environment.
• Directs and lead work of other laborers and equipment operators as necessary.
• Executes all job duties of Operator 1 without supervision.
• Safely operates construction, excavation, hauling, maintenance equipment including loaders, bulldozers, and excavators to complete job tasks.
• Tasks trained in GPS.
• Practices safety by estimating weights and distances, and by being fully aware of your surroundings.
• Conducts Daily pre and post equipment inspections.
• Monitors gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Maintains records of time worked and materials used.
• Completes daily paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.
