Job summary

Casella Construction, Inc. seeks a Senior Heavy Construction Laborer for our Heavy Civil Construction team across multiple locations in Vermont. The role requires 7+ years in heavy civil construction with 3+ years of specialized pipefitting, including valve and pipe installation, backfill, and grades.

You will lead crews, train junior laborers, and ensure safety and quality on projects. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, operating equipment (skid steer, roller, haul truck), installing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in heavy civil construction.
• At least 3 years of specialized pipefitting experience.
• Expertise in valve and pipe installation, construction grades, and backfill.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform pipefitting tasks including installation of valves and pipes.
• Execute proper construction grades and backfill techniques.
• Lead and motivate the construction team and guide junior laborers.
• Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Operate skid steer, mini roller, and haul truck.
• Install water and/or sewer lines as assigned.
• Complete daily paperwork.
• Participate in training as needed.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks for safe installations.
