Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Yellow Iron Diesel Technician/Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair heavy equipment, diesel trucks, and related systems. You will work with another mechanic on shift and may assist with emergency breakdowns.

Responsibilities include safety checks, parts requisition, and accurate documentation using fleet software. A valid driver's license and 5 years of experience are required; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience in diesel technician duties.
• Experience with DOT/OSHA standards and diagnostic software.
• Ability to read and interpret reports; English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including yellow iron and diesel trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Estimate time and parts for repairs and requisition parts.
• Conduct safety checks and document repairs.
• Collaborate with fellow mechanics and assist senior technicians.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.
