Carpenter / Finish Carpenter $23.00 - $28.00 per hour!!

The Carpenter is primarily responsible for completing residential and commercial repair jobs that are assigned by the Project Managers of the reconstruction department. This role must complete all repairs within the time frame of the job and within industry standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Reports to Reconstruction Project Manager
2. Work safely in residential and commercial properties that have been damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold
3. Complete assigned repair jobs for residential and commercial properties using a punch list
4. Complete work orders as given by reconstruction department
5. Communicate job progress with Estimators, Project Directors, Production Manager and/or Coordinators
6. Demolition of structural damage to properties through the use of hand and power tools
7. Complete measurements and calculate size and amount of material needed on assigned jobs
8. Inspect damaged framework
9. Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
10. Complete drywall projects
11. Complete painting projects
12. Complete flooring projects such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, etc.
13. Complete trim projects (baseboard, casing, crown, etc)
14. Complete light plumbing and electrical projects
15. Install kitchen and bath cabinets
16. Complete kitchen and bath remodels
17. Clean up assigned job sites; may be doing a days’ worth of work on different job sites
18. May be traveling to more than one job site per day
19. Keep equipment clean and organized in the shop and in the vehicle
20. Responsible for unloading trash and materials in assigned areas
21. Check work throughout the project to ensure it is up to code and specifications
22. Complete assigned jobs within budget and on time
23. Complete jobs with mitigation department as requested
24. Other duties as assigned

Competency – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of carpentry skills
2. Knowledge of finish carpentry, framing, structural work, drywall, and trim carpentry
3. Knowledge of technology (iPhone, iPad)
4. Customer Service Skills
5. Communication skills via phone and face to face
6. Ability to look professional
7. Ability to learn and operate our primary operating systems: RMS (Restoration Management Software)
8. Ability to work safely with hand and power tools
9. Ability to answer and communicate with customers over the phone and face to face
10. Ability to work independently
11. Ability to work in a team of Technicians
12. Ability to maintain an acceptable Background Check and Motor Vehicle Record Check

Required Education, Experience, & Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED required
2. Valid driver's license with a clean record
3. Desire to join a world-class team and contribute a positive attitude
4. Dedication to customer service
5. Fluent in English
6. Experience with hanging, patching, finishing, & texturing drywall, and painting is a must
7. 5 plus years’ experience in the construction/repair industry as a Tradesman/Carpenter

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. 7 plus years’ experience in finish carpentry work

Physical Requirement:

1. Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobs
2. Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents
3. Must be able to communicate and converse with customers and internal employees over the phone and face to face
4. Frequently will lift up to 75lbs. or more
5. Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
