Job summary

Adams Construction Company in Roanoke, Virginia seeks an Equipment Operator to join its paving crew. The role requires operating heavy paving machinery and ensuring proper compaction and material application on road beds and parking lots.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience with heavy equipment, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and the ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends. Drug testing is part of pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Three years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to read project plans and understand grade control.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and random tests if selected.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, and heavy equipment.
• Control material flow and compaction to meet specifications.
• Perform daily maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Coordinate with dump truck driver and foreman on material supply.
• Monitor safety, hazards, and site conditions.
• Check fuel levels and prepare equipment for operation.
