Job summary

Miller Electric Company seeks a Journey-level Electrician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex electrical systems across construction, facilities, roadways, healthcare, and commercial sites. State licensure is helpful but not required.

This on-site role requires following OSHA and Miller safety protocols, strong manual skills, and ability to work in diverse settings including industrial and governmental facilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 14,000 field hours documented on commercial/industrial sites and verified by IBEW.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical trade, codes and safety.
  • Must show initiative to analyze situations and make decisions per codes.
  • Ability to sustain considerable physical effort at frequent intervals.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, install, and modernize electrical systems in buildings, equipment and grounds per OSHA and Miller safety protocols.
  • Work with craftsmanship and NEC compliance in installation and maintenance.
  • Locate and diagnose faults using test equipment and repair by testing, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Test electrical equipment (motors, heaters, controls) for safety and efficiency.
  • Install light fixtures, wiring, boxes, conduits, panels and other electrical gear safely.
  • Possess knowledge of security and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Manual labor as needed: excavation, conduit bending, wire pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, overhead work, heavy equipment, power tools, ladders/scaffolds.

Job Summary

Miller Electric: The Journey‑level Electrician is an electrical craftsman that performs a wide range of skills including installation of complex electrical systems, troubleshooting, repair, demolition, maintenance, layout, cleanup, remodel or other related activities in a safe manner. These activities are safely performed in a variety of settings including construction, existing facilities, roadways, industrial, healthcare, service, commercial, governmental and other facets of the electrical industry. State licensure is helpful but not required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs work required for the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical systems for buildings, equipment and grounds in compliance with OSHA and Miller safety protocols.
  • Performs work with a high degree of craftsmanship, with manual and technical competency in compliance of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment and repairs malfunctions by such methods as testing, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Performs tests on electrical equipment, such as motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.
  • Installs light fixtures, wiring, boxes, conduits, panels and other electrical equipment in a safe, neat and workman-like manner.
  • Knowledge of security and fire alarm systems.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
  • Perform manual labor as required that may include:
    • Manual excavation
    • Bending and installing various types of conduits
    • Pulling and terminating wire
    • Lifting 50 pounds (panels, lights, boxes, cable reels, etc.)
    • Working with hands overhead
    • Using heavy equipment
    • Using power and battery tools
    • Work at higher elevations using ladders, scaffolds, and lifts as directed
Qualifications
  • Have minimum 14,000 field hours that are documented and verifiable on a commercial or industrial job site and also be confirmed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical trade, codes and safety.
  • Requires initiative and ingenuity to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codes.
  • Ability to sustain considerable physical effort at frequent intervals.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment‑based visa sponsorship (including H‑1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
