HotFoot Recruiters is hiring Skilled Construction Laborers / Apprentices to join our growing self-perform commercial construction team serving projects across the Phoenix metro area.

This role suits candidates with early-career experience in drywall, carpentry, ceilings, doors, painting, or interior finishes who want to develop their trade skills and advance toward journeyman-level roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or skilled trade experience.
• Experience in drywall, carpentry, ceilings, doors, painting or interior finishes preferred.
• Willingness to travel to Phoenix-area project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial interior construction and self-perform trade work.
• Support drywall hanging, metal framing, taping and finishing, carpentry, ceiling grid installation, doors, hardware, painting, and millwork.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials under supervision of journeymen and foremen.
• Read basic construction drawings, measurements and layouts.
• Assist with material staging, jobsite prep, cleanup and installation activities.
• Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
• Identify basic field issues and communicate them to field leadership.
• Maintain quality standards and complete assigned work efficiently.
• Follow OSHA, company and project safety requirements.
• Travel between commercial jobsites throughout the Phoenix metro area.

HotFoot Recruiters is hiring Skilled Construction Laborers / Apprentices to join a growing self-perform commercial construction team supporting projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.

This position is ideal for candidates with early-career experience in drywall, carpentry, ceilings, doors, painting, or interior finishes who want to continue developing their trade skills and advance into journeyman-level positions.

Position: Skilled Construction Laborer / Apprentice

Location: Phoenix Metro Area, AZ

Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $25.00–$30.00/hr DOE

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 6:00 AM–3:00 PM

Start Date: ASAP | Monday starts available

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial interior construction and self-perform trade work.
• Support drywall hanging, metal framing, taping and finishing, carpentry, ceiling grid installation, doors, hardware, painting, and millwork.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials under the direction of journeymen, foremen, and superintendents.
• Read basic construction drawings, measurements, layouts, and field instructions.
• Assist with material staging, jobsite preparation, cleanup, and installation activities.
• Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
• Identify basic field issues and communicate them to field leadership.
• Maintain quality standards and complete assigned work efficiently.
• Follow OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Travel between commercial jobsites throughout the Phoenix metro area as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or skilled trade experience required.
• Experience in one or more of the following strongly preferred:
  • Drywall / metal framing
  • Carpentry
  • Acoustical ceilings
  • Doors and hardware
  • Painting / finishing
  • Millwork installation
• Commercial construction experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
• Basic ability to read construction drawings, measurements, and layouts preferred.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn additional trades.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to Phoenix-area project sites.
• Certifications are helpful but not a deal breaker.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must successfully complete required background screening and 7-panel drug screen (THC excluded).

Career Growth

The goal is to develop skilled employees into long-term members of the company's self-perform construction team. Successful employees may convert to permanent employment after an approximately 1–3 month evaluation period and continue progressing toward journeyman, lead, and foreman-level opportunities.
