Job summary

Sacred Oak Homes in the Berkshires seeks an experienced carpenter to join our team. You will work on residential and light commercial projects under a Lead Carpenter, building and finishing structures with wood, drywall, and related materials while adhering to local codes.

This role emphasizes safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork, with steady, high‑quality work and clear opportunities to take on more responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience, including framing and finish work.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow site procedures.
• Team player with good communication and willingness to take direction from Lead Carpenter.

Responsibilities

• Build and install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composite materials.
• Fit and install window frames, doors, door frames, hardware, and interior/exterior trim.
• Erect and safely use scaffolding and ladders to access elevated work areas.
• Measure, cut, and install timbers, lumber, and paneling to specified dimensions; drill, fasten, and sand to a clean finish.
• Maintain a safe, organized job site; assist Lead Carpenter as needed.
