Job summary

Sacred Oak Homes in Berkshire County is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team under a Lead Carpenter. You will construct, install and repair wood, drywall and related materials while following local building codes and project plans.

Responsibilities include installing foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, trim and door hardware; lifting and positioning timbers; maintaining a clean, safe job site; and collaborating with architects, clients and subcontractors to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of carpentry experience.
• Eagerness and willingness to learn.
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety and orientation.
• Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
• High standard of integrity and professionalism.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials
• Assist with fitting and installing window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter's level, plumb bob, and laser levels
• Erect scaffolding, and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Position and hold timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting
• Select tools, equipment, and/or materials from storage and transport items to the work site
• Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site
• Hold plumb bobs, sighting rods, or other equipment to aid in establishing reference points and lines
• Cut and install timbers, lumber, and/or paneling to specified dimensions, and drill holes in timbers or lumber
• Sand surfaces to remove ridges, tool marks, glue, or caulking

The Opportunity
