Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ Years of Carpentry experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficient with tools, measuring instruments, heavy machinery, and electrical equipment.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Physically fit with high endurance.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides repair services as outlined by scope documentation or work orders.
• Installs wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
• Designs and installs cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
• Adds fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
• Selects lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style.
• Liaises with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
• Reads blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
• Takes measurements and calculates material quantities; cuts, shapes and smooths lumber and other material.
• Builds window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings.
• Lays out flooring, roofing or drywall; ensures level and compatibility.
• Carves and assembles furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items.
• Inspects sites and conducts repairs or maintenance.
• Picks up materials and delivers to job sites.
• Maintains power tools and equipment.
• Communicates client concerns to Project Manager.
• Picks up materials and delivers to job sites.
