Job Description

• Experience Required: Completion of job-specific skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

1. Restock cakes from the prep area to sales displays.
2. Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock goals.
3. Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
4. Handle special orders via phone and in person.
5. Check product dates and condition to maintain quality.
6. Record daily losses.
7. Prioritize safety for team members, guests, and products.
8. Provide excellent customer service, assist with product location, answer questions, and offer suggestions.
9. Inspire team members and guests with passion for food and commitment to excellence.
10. Handle products and equipment safely, adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
11. Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work areas.
12. Prepare and decorate products, ensuring freshness and proper rotation.
13. Follow safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
14. Record and prepare special orders accurately.
15. Stay updated on new products and procedures.
16. Ice and decorate cakes using icing and decorating tools.
17. Prepare icing and decorating products per recipes.
18. Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom efficiency.
19. Operate department equipment safely.
20. Assist in other areas as needed.
