Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Cable Assembly Technician in Dallas, TX for a full-time role. The position focuses on preparing and hand soldering wire and cable connectors, splices, and sockets for molding per defined policies and procedures.

The role requires 5 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience, strong reading of drawings and schematics, and prior hand soldering. Certification in J-STD 001 and IPC 620 is preferred, with overtime availability as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years electro-mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with hand soldering; wire and cable soldering preferred.
• J-STD 001 and IPC 620 certification preferred.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. per ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs fine hand soldering using a soldering iron and magnifying glass.
• Follows detailed production drawings, sample assemblies and verbal instructions under general supervision.
• Understands and applies established workmanship practices to all facets of mechanical assembly.
• Interprets drawings, work instructions and bills of materials to determine parts and steps for assembly.
• Works on assembled components requiring manual dexterity and use of basic hand tools and soldering equipment.
• Uses hand and power tools to perform skilled fitting and assembly.
• Inspects parts for quality and performs basic testing during the assembly process.
• Adjusts materials to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
• Follows safety procedures and PPE; handles hazardous chemicals per OSHA standards.
