Job summary

Rainier Asphalt is seeking an Experienced Asphalt Crew Member to join our field crew. You will perform asphalt paving, repair, and maintenance under the Foreman's direction, applying skilled handwork, compaction, grading, and joint construction to ensure high-quality results.

Expect to support site prep, staging, and production flow, while prioritizing safety around hot asphalt and heavy equipment. Valid DL preferred; ability to work outdoors in varied weather is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience performing asphalt paving, repair, or related asphalt construction work.
• Proficiency with asphalt placement, raking, handwork, and compaction.
• Reading and following work orders, measurements, layouts, and job instructions.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled asphalt paving, repair, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Rake, shape, and finish asphalt to establish grade, drainage, edges, and transitions.
• Construct and finish joints, seams, and transitions to existing pavement.
• Operate hand tools and small equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with site prep, material staging, and production flow to maintain throughput.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE; report hazards promptly.
