Overview

This is an onsite role located in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The GDOTS DoD Skillbridge Internship program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer, and may be applied for by participants. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military pay and benefits. The internship provides an opportunity to gain civilian experience through industry training during the last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation is voluntary, initiated by the service member, and must be approved by the chain of command. Completion of necessary documentation is required.

This program is available to active-duty military members of all branches and military spouses. Participants will job-shadow and learn from experienced leaders, developing skills in mission-critical work.

Major Position Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to internal users for computer applications and hardware (e.g., PCs, servers, mainframes).
  • Answer questions regarding system procedures, online transactions, system status, and downtime, typically within a call center environment.
  • Collaborate with network services, software engineering, and application development teams to restore service and identify problems.
  • Maintain a troubleshooting log to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Respond to end-user requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues.
  • Document, track, and resolve reported problems using established processes and procedures.
  • Research solutions using product information or databases.
  • Advise users on methods and steps to resolve and prevent issues, providing documentation as needed.
  • Escalate problems to appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Support software or device installations or upgrades, set up user profiles, or reset passwords.
  • Meet all service level response time and quality standards.
Basic Qualifications

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

  • Served at least 180 days on active duty.
  • Within 12 months of separation or retirement.
  • Receiving an honorable discharge.
  • Completed a service TAPS/TGPS.
  • Participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
  • Received written authorization from the Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade) to participate prior to internship start.
  • Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.

Candidates should possess a Vocational/Technical Training Degree or equivalent experience and education.
