Northrop Grumman offers a SkillBridge internship program for transitioning service members, providing on-site, full-time work experience in an entry to mid-level role at a 40-hour per week schedule.

Program Details

The program objectives are to develop job-skills during the final portion of service, support professional development, networking, and training in leadership principles, customer engagement, product/service overview, and core job responsibilities. The outcome is to provide a transition opportunity to a full-time position.

SkillBridge Eligibility
  • Served at least 180 days on active duty.
  • Within 12 months of separation or retirement.
  • Will receive an honorable discharge.
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
  • Received written authorization and approval from Unit Commander (first O‑4/Field Grade commander) to participate before the internship starts.
Position: Program Cost Control Analyst (Finance – Level 2 or 3)

Location: Dulles, VA. 100 % onsite; telecommute not accommodated.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Set up cost control systems, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system.
  • Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and company management; provide fact‑finding and negotiation support.
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure contracts remain within negotiated and government cost‑control guidelines.
  • Execute Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including WBS development, budget baseline, cost‑risk analysis/assessment and visibility reports, and analysis of estimates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications – Level 2
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 + years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 1 + year of professional experience.
  • Additional 4 + years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top‑Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
Basic Qualifications – Level 3
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 + years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 3 + years of professional experience.
  • Additional 4 + years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top‑Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Salary

Primary Level: $75,800.00 – $113,800.00.

Secondary Level: $94,200.00 – $141,200.00.

Base salary is determined by scope, responsibilities, qualifications, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Vice President or Director levels may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
