Job summary

Deer Valley Resort in Utah is seeking a Skier Services Sales Intern to assist guests with booking lessons, rentals, lift tickets, and children’s center activities while delivering exceptional guest service at nine sales locations.

This role offers hands-on experience in sales, guest service, and operations, with opportunities to support training, track sales performance, and contribute to projects that boost efficiency. Mid-November through mid-April, $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Basic computer, accounting and communication skills.
• Able to lift at least 30 lbs and withstand frequent up/down movements.
• Must be available for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Sit/stand behind a counter or computer 6-9 hours a day, four or five days a week.
• Must be professional, dependable, and enjoy providing great customer service.
• Ability to ski preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell and process ski lessons, ski rentals, childcare and lift tickets.
• Oversee team retail sales tracking/reporting.
• Record training videos on sales tools and procedures.
• Maintain up to date guest information and accurate records.
• Provide accurate information to our guests.
• Serve as mobile operations support across nine sales locations.
• Gather and securely file Acknowledgement of Risks Agreements.
• Assist immediate supervisor daily with miscellaneous office duties.
• Balance all methods of payment (cash, checks, credit cards, etc.).
• Perform basic office duties, such as copying, filing, stocking supplies, etc.
• Keep sales guest areas clean and orderly.
• Keep informed of updates/changes through interoffice communications.
• Meet internship requirements set out by university and Deer Valley.
• Option to shadow other departments.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Skier Services Sales Intern supports Deer Valley’s sales operations by assisting guests with booking lessons, rentals, lift tickets, and children’s center activities while providing exceptional customer service and processing payments at one of nine sales locations. In addition, they support the Sales leadership team by tracking retail sales performance, creating and maintaining training materials, distributing sales resources across the resort, and assisting with projects that enhance sales and operational efficiency. This position offers hands-on experience in sales, guest service, and business operations while contributing to a seamless and memorable guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sell and process ski lessons, ski rentals, childcare and lift tickets

• Provide accurate information to our guests
• Serve as a mobile operations support, skiing across the resort to connect our nine sales locations with supplies, marketing materials, and sales resources
• Gather and securely file and store Acknowledgement of Risks Agreements
• Assist immediate supervisor daily with miscellaneous office duties
• Responsible for balancing all methods of payment (i.e., cash, checks, credit cards, etc.)
• Perform basic office duties, such as copying, filing, stocking supplies, etc., including keeping the sales guest areas clean and orderly
• Keep informed of updates/changes through interoffice emails, memos, etc.
• Meet all internship requirements set out by university/school and Deer Valley Resort
• Option to shadow other departments

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to ski preferred

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT

• Mid-November to early December start date, with employment through mid-April

PAY RATE

• $21.00 per hour
