Job Description

Designs, builds, and confirms contents of items in custom crates for shipment and supporting warehousing functions including pulling work orders, parts orders, receiving goods into stock, placing received items on the shelves, packing, and processing all orders for shipment.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Meet all safety procedures and policies are followed.
• Design, build and prepare skids for cross-functional teams.
• Put product away in assigned locations with proper tags attached.
• Receive incoming goods from vendors and internal customers.
• Distribute received goods to machines or shelves.
• Accurately pull, count, and issue products from racks for delivery to various production areas.
• Load and unload trucks as necessary.
• Pack and/or crate parts for shipment.
• Arrange shipments with freight carriers.
• Process orders through the UPS system as necessary.
• Process shipping documents for machines and parts.
• Inventory checking/counting annually and as required.
• Assist the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to operate a forklift truck in a safe manner.
• Load and unload trucks as necessary.
• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• General warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge of MS Office products.

Working Conditions

• Typical manufacturing facility conditions.
• Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions.
• Employees must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours; kneeling, squatting, bending over and standing for long periods may be required to perform assigned tasks.
• Safety steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required.
• Long pants and a sleeved shirt (short sleeve at a minimum) are required.

Additional Duties / Responsibilities

• Be highly motivated.
• Understand verbal, written, and drawn engineering instructions.
• Maintain work area cleanliness and functionality.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a limited amount of time, with expected quality, and while following safety practices.

Education / Experience

• Trade school or other experience preferred.
