Job summary

Bill & Paul's Sporthaus in Grand Rapids invites a dedicated Ski & Snowboard Service Technician to join our outdoor-loving team. You’ll service customer equipment, tune skis and boards, mount bindings, and help guests make informed gear decisions to stay safe and confident on the slopes.

We value mechanical aptitude, safety, and teamwork, with hands-on training and an energetic shop culture. Previous shop experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person in a fun, fast-paced

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to lift and move skis, snowboards, and equipment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Passion for skiing, snowboarding, or outdoor recreation is preferred.
• Previous ski shop, snowboard shop, bicycle shop, or mechanical service experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and servicing customer equipment to the highest standards.
• Ski and snowboard tuning, including waxing, edge sharpening, and base repair.
• Ski and snowboard binding installation, adjustment, and testing.
• Performing binding indemnification and release checks in accordance with industry standards.
• Inspecting equipment for wear, damage, and safety concerns.
• Helping customers understand service recommendations and equipment needs.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient service shop.
• Assisting with seasonal workload demands and supporting fellow team members.
• Staying current on manufacturer guidelines, service procedures, and industry best practices.

Whether you're mounting bindings, tuning edges, waxing skis, or helping a customer understand how to care for their gear, your work directly impacts their safety, confidence, and performance. What You'll Do
