Job summary

Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho, seeks qualified ski instructors to deliver beginner to intermediate lessons for guests of all ages. Certified or non-certified instructors are welcome, with a focus on safety, customer service, and creating a fun learning environment.

Instructors will lead group and private sessions, act as Sun Valley ambassadors, and participate in ongoing training while working through weekends and holiday periods during the season.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills with guests, students, and teammates.
• Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or higher and demonstrate proficiency for lessons.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing resort demands.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions for extended periods.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and throughout the season (Nov–Apr).
• Experience working with or supervising children is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct group and private ski and snowboard lessons for guests of varying abilities.
• Provide a safe, positive learning environment and promote responsible skiing and snowboarding.
• Greet guests professionally and ensure a memorable experience.
• Serve as a Sun Valley ambassador and anticipate guest needs.
• Maintain clear communication with guests, instructors, and leadership.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth daily operations and lesson strategy.
• Lead groups independently and manage dynamics.
• Follow all resort safety policies and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training to improve teaching techniques.
• Be flexible with scheduling throughout the season.
