Job summary

Sugarbush Ski and Ride School is hiring a part- or full-time instructor for the winter season. You will teach children on varied terrain, maintain a safe learning environment, and help guests have outstanding experiences. You’ll join a top training team, receive on-snow coaching, and start at $18 per hour with increases after certifications.

Weekend and holiday availability is required. Applicants must be at least 16, able to lift 50 lbs, and work well in winter conditions with a positive,

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Intermediate skier/snowboarder capable of blue terrain.
• Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring.
• Experience working with children.
• Spanish language knowledge is a plus.
• PSIA/AASI Level I–III or USSA certifications preferred.
• Able to work holidays and weekends.
• Must complete on-snow training.
• Able to stand/walk on snow and lift 50 lbs.
• Strong guest service and teamwork.
• Work in inclement mountain weather.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety on varied terrain in winter conditions.
• Arrive on time and prepared for duties.
• Attend morning meetings.
• Supervise children in class, including lunch.
• Instruct levels per Instructor Guide progressions.
• Create safe, fun learning environment with creative teaching.
• Assist with Kids on Lifts policy.
• Support in registration and equipment fitting, and maintenance of teaching areas.
• Communicate lesson content and progress to guardians.
• Return children to guardians.
• Follow company guidelines and Vermont Skier Safety Act.
