Venture Sports in Vail is seeking a friendly Ski Rental Tech/Ski Valet to assist guests with equipment selection, boot fitting, and safe setup. You will size and adjust gear, manage storage and valet services, and help guests with reservations in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

The role offers flexible shifts from morning to full day, with opportunities to demo equipment and participate in producing an exceptional mountain-town experience for visitors.

Qualifications

• Full Time or Part Time Seasonal Employment (November - April).
• Flexible shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meet grooming and uniform standards.
• Outgoing personality with exceptional customer service.
• Physically able to carry 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our Ski Rental Techs/Valets are on the front lines of guest service, making sure every skier and rider has the right gear and an exceptional experience. This role is fast-paced, hands-on, and guest-focused—you’ll be helping everyone from first-time skiers to seasoned racers while carrying on our reputation for outstanding service in the Vail Valley.

As a Ski Rental Tech/Valet, you’ll assist guests with equipment selection and boot fitting, size and adjust skis and snowboards, and ensure every setup is safe and comfortable. You’ll also handle gear storage and valet services, check guests in and out of reservations, recommend tuning or retail products when needed, and execute custom and private fittings for large groups. Techs play a key role in keeping the shop running smoothly—whether it’s moving racks, organizing merchandise, or keeping the space clean and guest-ready.

This role offers flexible shifts (morning, afternoon, split, or full day) and the chance to be part of a fun, mountain-town crew.

Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)

• Provide VIP Customer Service
• Make product recommendations for both rental and retail merchandise
• Rental fittings - accurately size, select, and fit boots, skis, and snowboards to ensure guest satisfaction
• Follow manufacturer’s recommendations when adjusting binding DIN settings
• Assist guests with putting on and removing their boots when needed
• Store/Valet guests’ personal or rental equipment, often means carrying multiple sets of skis and/or boots at a time
• Understand our boot/ski rack storage system and pull boots/skis upon request in a timely and efficient manner
• Utilize our rental database to look up guest reservations
• Move racks of skis & snowboards inside and outside on a daily basis to set up the valet area
• Have knowledge of our tuning program, look over equipment and know when to recommend services
• Resolve customer problems efficiently and professionally
• Check out reservations and collect final payment at the time of fitting
• Answer phones and complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately
• Cleaning/Disinfecting of shops - to include trash removal, dusting, wiping down windows and doors
• Organizing and restocking rental and retail merchandise and backstock

Skills/Requirements:

• Full Time or Part Time Seasonal Employment (November - April)
• A varied schedule will include holidays, weekdays, weekends with morning, evening and split shifts
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Strong communication skills (through phone calls and emails)
• Meet grooming and uniform standards (provided)
• Expected to arrive on time and ready to work
• Must have an outgoing, friendly personality with exceptional customer service skills
• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to carry 50+lbs (23 kilos)
• Basic computer skills
• Organized, clean and able to work in a shared work space
• Working knowledge of ski/snowboard industry related products
• Ability to demo available skis/boards
