Job summary

Mountain-Capital-Partners is seeking a Ski Patrol patroller for Winter 2026/2027 at Pajarito Mountain near Los Alamos, NM. This seasonal role covers medical response, first aid, and guest safety across the resort.

You will respond to emergencies, transport injured guests, and help enforce safety standards while working in varied weather and at high altitude. A CPR/OEC background and strong teamwork are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current CPR and OEC preferred.
• Advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to navigate mountain areas.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Team player and able to collaborate regularly.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies on the mountain.
• Transport injured guests off the mountain.
• Administer first aid and provide extended patient care when needed.
• Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the resort area.
• Maintain signs, ropes, and padding in the ski area.
• Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
• Conduct end-of-day sweeps to ensure everyone is off the mountain.
• Special duties may include chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche mitigation.
• Perform other Mountain Operations duties as assigned.

Ski/Snowboard Patroller– Winter 2026/2027

Location: Pajarito Mountain | Department: Rentals Type: Seasonal | Start Date: December | End Date: April 2027

Ski Patrol monitors the mountain, promoting a safe environment for guests and employees. Ski patrol provides first aid, rescue, and transport to those in need.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond to medical emergencies on the mountain.
• Transport injured guests off of the mountain.
• Administer first aid and, in some cases, extended patient care.
• Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the Resort ski area.
• Maintain Resort ski area signs, ropes, and padding.
• Educate guests on proper conduct and safety measures.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and timely.
• Perform sweeps at the end of the day to ensure that all guests and employees are safely off the mountain.
• Special duties may include performing chair lift evacuations, search and rescue, and avalanche mitigation.
• Perform other Mountain Operations duties as assigned.

• Must demonstrate advanced to expert skiing or snowboarding ability to safely navigate any area of the mountain in all weather and snow conditions

• Must have a working knowledge of all emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Must exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including blizzard, extreme cold, and/or wind.
• Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to safely walk in ski/snowboard boots in icy conditions.
• Must be willing to adapt and problem solve in a dynamic work environment.
