Job summary

Starhold is hiring Ski Instructors to teach group and private lessons at Hatcher Alpine Xperience in Hatcher Pass (Palmer, Alaska). The role is full-time seasonal, averaging 30–40 hours per week during the operating season, with a Thursday–Monday schedule and holidays observed.

Candidates must be at least 18 and able to pass a background check. Instructors should provide excellent customer service, ski for extended periods, and work well with rental staff, patrollers, and other team members to

Responsibilities

• Execute private and group lessons per PSIA guidelines while providing positive redirection to improve student ability levels.
• Coordinate with rental staff, ski patrollers, lift operators, and snow-surface staff to ensure safe, enjoyable guest experiences.
• Conduct facility safety walks and parking lot setup before guests arrive.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay: $17.00+ hourly. Pay varies by level of certification and experience.

Hatcher Alpine Xperience is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization developing Skeetawk, a new alpine ski, snowboard, and recreation facility in Hatcher Pass (Palmer), Alaska. We are hiring Ski Instructors to teach group and private lessons to guests of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

This is a full-time seasonal position with an average of 30-40 hours per week during the operating season. Regular Schedule is Thursday - Monday, and all MSBSD holidays. Ski Instructors must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a background check.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 PSIA-AASI (or equivalent) certification or higher. (In-house training will be provided to un-certified applicants).
• Previous experience as a Ski Instructor.
