Job summary

Loveland Ski Area is seeking a part-time, seasonal Ski Patrol Guide Operations Supervisor to lead the Dry Gulch cat tour program, supervise guides, and develop guiding procedures. You’ll oversee safety and first aid coverage for guests, coordinate with Patrol Directors, and manage training and performance of staff in backcountry tours.

Requirements include high school diploma, Ski Guide and Patrol leadership experience, EMT/OEC certs, explosives permit eligibility, Pro 1 Avalanche, and a valid

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Previous Ski Guide experience and/or outdoor group management experience.
• Previous Ski Patrol supervisor experience preferred.
• EMT and/or Outdoor Emergency Care certifications current.
• Possession of or ability to obtain FELC background check and CDLE Type 1 Explosives Permit.
• Knowledge of explosives handling, avalanche control, rescue procedures.
• Pro 1 Avalanche Certification.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a snowmobile and essential medical equipment.
• Backcountry planning, group management and strong communication skills.
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency.
• Clear English communication; bilingual helpful.
• Expert level ski or snowboard ability.
• Be designated as Class 4 Loveland Ski Patroller or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and execute all Dry Gulch cat tours.
• Evaluate and recommend snow cat guides.
• Monitor patroller performance; provide input on evaluations and assignments.
• Provide training for patrollers performing guide responsibilities.
• Guide skiers in backcountry terrain.
• Perform avalanche control and rescue.
• Identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Customer relations, public relations and education.
• May perform patroller duties if no tours scheduled.
