Job summary

Loveland is seeking a Ski Patrol Supervisor to assist the Ski Patrol Director in supervising personnel and daily operations. You will train, supervise, and execute patrol activities, ensure the plan of the day is communicated and carried out safely, and report progress to the Director.

You may perform duties in the Director’s absence, contributing to a positive guest and employee experience with safety and fun as priorities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Ski Patrol leadership.
• EMT or Outdoor Emergency Care certifications.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Clear English communication; bilingual helpful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and supervise department operations.
• Participate in patroller hiring decisions and interviews.
• Monitor performance; input on evaluations, coaching, and discipline.
• Deliver performance reviews to patrol staff.

Job Title: Ski Patrol Supervisor – Internal Applicants Only

Type of Position: Full-time, Seasonal

Schedule: Four ten-hour days/week, includes weekends/holidays

Pay Rate: $32.00 – $36.00/hr., based on skills and experience.

Summary

To assist the Ski Patrol Director in the supervision of Ski Patrol personnel and daily Ski Patrol operations. Assist the Ski Patrol Director in the training, supervision, and execution of all Ski Patrol operations. Responsible for ensuring the plan of the day is effectively communicated to all patrollers and is carried out in a safe and efficient manner. Reports to Ski Patrol Director on progress of all assigned work projects and trainings. Perform the duties of the Ski Patrol Director in absence of Director. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for planning, leading, and supervising department operations
• Participate in patroller hiring decisions by evaluating participants in ski/snowboard tryouts, participating in interviews, and providing recommendations on hiring decisions to Patrol Director
• Monitor performance of patrollers and provide input to Patrol Director related to performance management, including evaluations, performance correction, coaching, disciplinary action, promotions and assignment of special duties.
• Responsible for delivering performance reviews to a portion of the patrol staff
• Training of employees in ski patrol skills and procedures
• Performance of any Patroller Duties, as needed

Requirements

• H. S. diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in Ski Patrol leadership and all aspects of ski patrolling.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician or Outdoor Emergency Care certifications
• Possession of or the ability to pass a FELC criminal background check and obtain a CDLE Type 1 Explosives Permit, preferred.
• Possession of (or ability to obtain) a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record
• Knowledge of explosives handling and storage, avalanche control, search and rescue procedures and chairlift evacuation procedures.
• Ability to assume temporary incident command of any on mountain critical incidents.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to communicate clearly in English – speak and understand verbal and written communications.
• Bilingual is helpful
• Expert level ski or snowboard ability
• Must be designated as a Class 4 Loveland Ski Patroller, or equivalent
