Job summary

Blue River Sports in Breckenridge is hiring for ski and snowboard rental technicians. You will help customers select and fit equipment, ensure proper fit and safe use, and perform tuning and maintenance as needed.

We offer a competitive wage of $22 per hour, a seasonal ending bonus, a Local Ski Pass, and employee discounts on merchandise. Flexible part-time hours start with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week and may lead to full-time later in the season.

• Ski industry experience is not necessary.

Job description

Blue River Sports has been in business under the same ownership in Breckenridge since 1982. Mountain Wave was opened in 1993 to accommodate the snowboard business.

Our primary business is ski and snowboard rental. We have been successful by offering a good product at a fair price with an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Good communications skills and a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers. A demonstrated ability to be a team player. A strong work ethic. Previous experience working with the public is helpful. Ski industry experience is not necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. Proper selection, fit and adjustment of the customer’s skis or snowboards, boots, bindings and poles according to their height, weight, and skiing ability.
2. 2. Tuning, repair, care and storage of this equipment. After training and demonstrated ability, technicians will be expected to tune outside customer skis and boards.

PAY & BENEFITS

1. 1. $22.00 per hour. End of season bonus. EMPLOYEE IS NOT ELIGIBLE for bonus unless they have worked through end of season (approximately April 15).
2. 2. Epic Local Ski Pass provided. If employee purchases their own pass prior to hire, price will be reimbursed at the conclusion of training.
3. 3. Employment will be terminated no later than April 15.
4. 4. Shop employee prices on hard goods and 25% discount on store merchandise.

Work will be flexible and part time (guaranteed minimum 20 hours per week) between the end of training and December 19th and full time thereafter.
