Job summary

Materion Corporation in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Sizing Technician for 2nd shift to operate grinding, crushing and screening equipment, following route cards to produce specified sizes. The role supports packaging and labeling of materials and requires adherence to safety protocols.

Starting rate is $20+/hour. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of industrial experience are preferred. Export-control eligibility (ITAR/EAR) and proper protective gear are required.

Qualifications

Starting Rate: $20+/hour

Under the direction of the Sizing Department Supervisor, the Sizing Technician operates a limited number of grinding, crushing, and screening equipment to produce specific size or variety of size pieces and powders of chemicals according to route cards.

You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Operate work centers involved in grinding and crushing material, and screening materials to proper size, while follow route cards and your supervisor’s instruction. You will bag, package, weigh and label the materials
  • Set up grinding and crushing equipment with the assistance of other Sizing Technicians
  • Maintain Sizing equipment, including performing preventative maintenance as scheduled
  • Operate a dry box work center that allows for the handling of air or moisture sensitive materials

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year industrial or relevant experience, preferred
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds at shoulder height
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to low concentrations of fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, acid, and bases. The employee occasionally works with reactive material and may be exposed to low-level radioactive materials and extreme heat. All such exposures are customarily within limits established by federal and state regulatory bodies.
  • This position is located at an export control-restricted work location or requires access to export- controlled information. To be considered for this position, you must be eligible to access U.S. controlled technology that is subject to the licensing jurisdiction of Dept of State’s International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Dept. of Commerce’s Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, a respirator, and protective clothing such as a uniform or lab coat. Other, more specialized protective gear may be required occasionally.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
