Job summary

Forged Solutions Group, Inc. in High Bridge, NJ is hiring a Sizer for the 2nd shift to operate sizing equipment and ensure parts meet spec. You will use expanders, presses, and welding machines, verify material specs, maintain traceability, and hand off to the next production step.

The role requires basic sizing knowledge, strong measuring skills, and the ability to read job routes. Forklift experience is preferred; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent training/experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English; Spanish is a plus.
• Strong measuring skills and tape measure reading accuracy.
• Willingness to learn die and tooling technologies.

Responsibilities

• Operate sizing equipment (expanders, presses, welders) per routers.
• Install sizing rings and bars for heat treatment.
• Use hydraulic jacks for precise sizing.
• Interpret job prints and measure parts to specification (OD/ID).
• Choose dies and tools appropriate for each job.
• Identify when hot sizing is needed and ensure proper heating per router.
• Understand tolerances and sizing expectations.
• Maintain product traceability throughout the process.
• Verify materials match routers and prior steps are signed off.
• Use measuring tools accurately (tape, calipers, rulers).
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.
• Perform lift truck inspections and operate trucks safely.
• Provide direction to helpers when needed.
• Assist other departments to meet production goals.
• Complete assigned tasks on time and report issues to Supervisor.

Summary

The Sizer plays a key role in our manufacturing process, operating specialized equipment to shape and size metal fittings made from various alloys. This position uses expanders, presses, and welding machines to meet specifications outlined in job routers. Responsibilities include verifying material specs, maintaining product traceability, and ensuring proper handoff to the next step in production.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including large/small expanders, presses, and welders.
• Install sizing rings and bars for heat treatment.
• Use hydraulic jacks for precise sizing.

• Choose appropriate dies and tools for the job.
• Identify when hot sizing is required and ensure proper heating per router.

• Recognize and respond to material flaws or sizing exceptions.
• Maintain product traceability throughout the process.
• Verify materials match job routers and that prior steps are signed off.
