AGY in Aiken, SC seeks a Chemist or Chemical Engineer to join its R&D team. You will develop and optimize glass fiber sizing formulations and coatings to improve mechanical and thermal performance, and lead projects from concept through commercialization.

You will design experiments, apply DOE and data analytics, collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and customers, and provide technical support during qualification and launches.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• BS with 5+ years of industrial experience is considered.

Responsabilités

• Develop and optimize glass fiber sizing formulations and coatings for performance gains.
• Design, execute, and analyze laboratory and pilot-scale experiments.
• Lead product development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and customers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Provide technical support during product qualification, troubleshooting, and launches.
