Lean Six Sigma Program Manager – Operational Excellence | Advanced Manufacturing | U.S./Canada Travel

A leading North American manufacturer in the clean technology and high-volume electronics space is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Program Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites. This role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide Lean and Six Sigma deployment, developing belt training programs, managing high-impact projects, and advancing operational maturity through data, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.

This individual will serve as a strategic facilitator and project leader, guiding teams to execute measurable improvements aligned with long-term strategy and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Strategic Deployment

  • Facilitate long- and mid-term strategy execution through Hoshin planning, value stream mapping, and annual budgeting alignment.
  • Lead the design and execution of enterprise-wide Lean Six Sigma initiatives and deploy maturity roadmaps across functions and sites.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for the continuous improvement program (project ROI, cycle time, waste reduction, certification metrics).
  • Serve as a primary trainer, mentor, and project coach across all belt levels (White to Black), managing training content, certification progress, and performance tracking.

Project Execution & Coaching

  • Lead and support Black Belt-level projects ($500K+ impact) tied to strategic business priorities.
  • Coach Lean and Six Sigma practitioners in DMAIC, A3, root cause analysis, and Apollo/PK methods.
  • Conduct value stream and line flow analysis, asset utilization reviews, and MES/data system optimizations.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Operations to drive innovation, reduce variation, and enhance design and process stability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Systems Integration

  • Coordinate across departments including Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and IT to drive cross-site process alignment.
  • Work with IT teams to develop performance dashboards, financial tracking tools, and digital workflows for certification and project lifecycle management.
  • Benchmark best practices both inside and outside the industry to maintain world-class standards in operational excellence.
  • Represent the company at internal and external quality and improvement summits, benchmarking events, and strategic planning sessions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Engineering preferred).
  • 7+ years in process improvement or quality roles, with 5+ years in organizations with mature Lean/Six Sigma programs.
  • 3+ years of project management experience leading large-scale, cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Strong Minitab proficiency and experience teaching statistical tools and analysis methods.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed, multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred:

  • PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus.
  • Experience in electronics, renewable energy, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to align projects to enterprise goals.
  • Servant leadership mindset with strong coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving, data visualization, and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
  • Flexible and adaptive in fast-paced, rapidly scaling environments.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Minitab, Microsoft Office, Business Central, and Power BI.
